Neurotoxins (Xeomin®, Botox®, Jeuveau®)
Smooth, Refresh, Revitalize
At Revitalize Plastic Surgery, our expertly administered neurotoxin treatments—such as Botox®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau®—help soften fine lines and wrinkles for a refreshed, youthful appearance. Quick, safe, and with little to no downtime, neurotoxins are a trusted solution to relax dynamic lines caused by facial expressions while maintaining your natural look. Whether you’re smoothing crow’s feet, frown lines, or forehead creases, our team customizes every treatment to ensure subtle, beautiful results that let your confidence shine.
What are toxin injections?
Toxin injections work by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles. In the face, toxins are used to prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive expressions. By limiting muscle movement, toxins not only help smooth existing wrinkles but also prevent new ones from forming, offering a more youthful, refreshed appearance. With regular maintenance, these treatments can delay the signs of aging and preserve smoother skin over time.
Toxins differ from fillers. Toxins treat wrinkles and tighten muscles while filler injections add volume. If interested in filler, please visit our filler pages: Hyaluronic Acid (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA), Biostimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse, PRP), Allografts (alloClae, Renuva)
The most popular location for toxin injections is in the face to address:
- Fine lines and wrinkles in the forehead, between the brows (frown lines aka “the 11’s”) and around the eyes (the “crow’s feet”)
- Vertical lines in the neck (aka platysmal bands)
- “Cobble stoning” in the chin
- Vertical lines and wrinkling around the lips
- Decreased lip volume- a “lip flip” everts the top lip leading to the illusion of additional volume and a poutier kiss
In addition to reducing fine lines and wrinkles, toxins off a variety of other aesthetic and therapeutic benefits:
- Treating muscle spasticity or tightness
- Ease TMJ (pain in the jaw from clenching and or bruxism/grinding of the teeth)
- Slimming the masseter muscles (hypertrophy or enlargement of the masseter muscles in the jaw which can lead to widening of the face)
- Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
- Chronic migraines and headaches
- Multiple other medical conditions
Botox is not just for women either, we also do “brotox!”
Toxin use in some locations and applications may be considered off-label.
Toxins cannot address loose skin, which is better treated with surgery (like a facelift).
At Revitalize Plastic Surgery, we offer a range of FDA-approved neuromodulator treatments to help you achieve a refreshed, youthful appearance without surgery.
Botox®
The most well-known neurotoxin, Botox® temporarily relaxes facial muscles to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, especially on the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes.
Xeomin®
Often called the “naked” neurotoxin, Xeomin® is uniquely purified, containing only the active ingredient without added proteins. It delivers smooth, natural-looking results with a low risk of resistance.
Jeuveau®
Known as “Newtox,” Jeuveau® is the newest FDA-approved neurotoxin, offering effective wrinkle relaxation and a modern option for patients looking for refreshed, youthful results.
Am I a good candidate for Toxin Injections?
You may be a great candidate for neuromodulators if:
- You are a female or male in good overall health
- You have moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles (caused by facial expressions)
- You are looking for non-surgical facial rejuvenation
- You have realistic expectations about results
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- You do not have neuromuscular disorders or allergies to any of the ingredients
During your consultation, our experienced providers at Revitalize Plastic Surgery will assess your facial anatomy and discuss which product is most appropriate for your needs.
What to Expect
All procedures are performed in-office with minimal downtime. The injections are performed using fine needles. We use an incredibly small needle for the injection, so numbing medication is usually not required. You may still have some discomfort from the needle pokes. Most patients return to their normal routine immediately after treatment.
Treatment Time: 15-30 minutes
Downtime: Minimal (may experience mild swelling or bruising)
Results: It typically takes 3-5 days to start to see an effect from the toxin injection and two weeks to appreciate the final results.
Longevity: Toxin injections typically last 2-3 months but can be less in certain areas, especially around the mouth.
Recovery
Recovery is minimal. We ask that you avoid any strenuous exercise or activities where your head is below the heart until the day following your injection. While every attempt is made to limit bruising from your injection, some bruising is still possible. Using ice and Arnica after your procedure can limit this. Swelling and bruising can take up to 2 weeks to completely resolve. It is important to consider the timing of your injection to avoid any important life events. We also recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before having any facials, massages, etc. to prevent migration of the product.
We believe in providing exemplary care, so if you have any concerns do not hesitate to contact our office.
Risks of Injections
All procedures come with some degree of risk and complications. However, most patients experience no or minimal complications. We believe in transparency and properly informing patients of things that could go wrong. Your decision to proceed with the procedure assumes that the potential benefits outweigh these risks and hence you accept these possible risks.
The most common complications from toxins are pain, bruising, and swelling at the injection site. There is the possibility of over or under correction. Rarely, you may experience drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow. Sometimes additional treatments may be required to address these complications.
Our providers take every precaution to ensure the safest, most precise treatment possible.
