Will aesthetic injections make my wrinkles disappear?

The goal of fillers and neurotoxins are to fill and relax wrinkles and in some cases, to completely make them disappear. Some patients want wrinkles to be diminished but not be completely gone for a more natural look and some patients do not want to see any at all. Most of the time we can achieve either result but it does depend on how deep the wrinkles are to start with.

Will aesthetic injections make me bruise?

There is a risk of bruising any time you use a needle. We do our best to avoid it at all costs but there are no guarantees. Certain areas of the face are more vascular than others and more likely to bruise, for example; the lips and under the eyes.

Do aesthetic injections hurt?

Everyone has a different tolerance for pain but I would say that injections in the face range from very tolerable to uncomfortable at times. Midface treatments as in the cheeks is typically injected without a topical anesthetic while the lips are pretreated with one to make the procedure more comfortable. All dermal fillers contain lidocaine, which is an anesthetic, that works when injected with the product to help numb the area. Most all of our patient tolerate them very well and come back for more!

What area of my face can I receive aesthetic injections?

Most all areas of the face can be safely injected. Some areas are better treated with a neurotoxin such as Botox or Dysport while others will require a dermal filler. Our injectors have to go through a rigorous training program to understand not only the products but the facial structure to safety inject. As with surgery, do your homework and make sure your injector is qualified. We offer complimentary consultations to evaluate and answer all your questions. Together we will develop a treatment plan to meet your specific needs.

How long will aesthetic injections last?

There are several factors that go in to determining how long neurotoxins (Botox/Dysport) and dermal fillers will last for you. Your age, metabolism, and lifestyle can all effect the duration. In most cases neurotoxins lasts 3-4 months and dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6 months up to 2 years depending on the product and area injected.

Are aesthetic injections safe?

Aesthetic injections are regulated by the FDA and have been proven to be safe and effective. It is important to go to certified and trained injectors who are knowledgeable about the product and facial anatomy. There are always risks and potential side effects but the likelihood of serious outcomes can be diminished by choosing experienced injectors.

What is the difference between botox/dysport and dermal filters?

Botox and Dysport are Neurotoxins. They work with the muscles in the face. They are designed to “relax” wrinkles by inhibiting the muscles that they are injected into from moving. When we stop those muscles from moving then the fine lines and wrinkles that are created from expressions are reduced. Dermal fillers are used to fill in the lines and wrinkles or to create volume in areas has diminished due to age.

Will aesthetic injections change the way I look?

Our goal is to make our patients look like a younger or more refreshed version of themselves. We don’t want to change the way you look but rather enhance your own beautiful features. We will approach your treatment conservatively which leads to beautiful never overdone results.

How much do aesthetic injections cost?

Neurotoxins are charged by the unit. One area of treatment may range from 20 to 60 units depending on the product used. A neurotoxin treatment can range from $200 up to $600. The amount could be more or less depending on the number of areas treated and the amount you need. Fillers cost anywhere from $450 to $800 per syringe. Prior to receiving any injection we will schedule a complimentary consultation. Our providers will then be able to determine the type and amount of product they will need to achieve your goals. You can trust our injectors to be honest and upfront about the cost. We often run product specials as well as discounts for referrals.

What age do I have to be to get aesthetic injections?

Aesthetic injections can be administered on individuals 18 to 90. It depends on what areas you would like volume added to as each person is different. Some people in their mid-20’s will start receiving neurotoxins as a preventative treatment in the forehead area. It is not unusual to treat individuals in their 80’s and 90’s.
